Attached is a sample budget that my husband and I use. We got this a few semesters ago in one of my finance classes. So grateful for it!! Sample Budget
I had always known that I learned the best by working with my hands, what I didn’t know was that I also learned well with visual! Had I known this, I think I would have watched more videos about the assignments I was working on. In the future, when it is time for me to take my National Nursing Home Admin. Exam as well the GMAT and GRE, this will be useful. Looking at more tests, example problems, and watching more videos are going to be key with my already hands on learning approach. They will give me more opportunities to understand each type of question, create a greater sense of familiarity with the exam, and increase my confidence in the exams. I can now look for more items like educational documentaries rather than as many books. This doesn’t mean that I get to disregard auditory and linguistic learning styles. I do need to seek ways to strengthen these other two. Especially considering that it’s the typical classroom based lesson style of learning. I can in turn read more books rather than watch as many documentaries, take notes as I learned about in the other lessons, and increase my literacy.
This is definitely going to have to be learning that my weakest side of me is Developing Emotional Intelligence. I definitely didn’t see that coming, but I can agree with this. This is going to help me the most because it has, one, made me aware of something that I was not aware of and, two, driven a desire to strengthen my weaknesses. I have already started thinking about what things are contributing to my weakness. What actions, items need change? How can I be happier about life and all of the positive things going on around me? I am really trying to dig deep and learn within me so that what is projected outside of me matches.
I want to approach this a different way, “how will I teach others after graduation?”.
I can do this by continuing to use the principles and learning model that was taught to me while attending this amazing school. I more importantly I can seek to teach others as the savior did and work to follow his example. Patience is huge. Alma 7 verse 23 states, “And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering;being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times…”. Using each of these items, building these qualities, allow you to be able learn to teach in the way that the person learns best. To find that, and to appreciate it will help not only the person, but you as well to go far.

- Act for Themselves
- Love Serve Teach
How it applies to me?
I have a responsibility to love, search, and teach my fellow brothers and sisters. With that responsibility I have the responsibility to prepare myself accordingly to teach others the magnitude of what I learned. Without proper preparation on my part, I have no ability to serve as the savior did and teach the Lords work. I cannot help them understand, what they may need assistance on If I don’t do my part.
A. Academic center (Tutor Centers)
During my time studying at BYU-Idaho I have utilized this recourse in just about every class. Many times, I don’t think I would have done as well if I didn’t and other times, I may not have passed the class if it wasn’t for the assistance of a tutor. They have been able to help me in developing ways to remember the information. Things like, “capitate, you get so angry you want to capitate them!” to remember a bone in our hands will stay will with me forever. What is even better is that I love that I learned how to learn using these resources.
B. Advising Center/Career Exploration/Planning
Without the advising center I would have never been able to discover this major that I am graduating in. I was blessed with the opportunity to work there for 2 years, if I didn’t I would have never been able to help as many people as I did. I learn a lot of information, most importantly the path I want to be on in my life.
C. BYU-Idaho Website
I don’t feel this was that big. I guess for me I learned by playing with the website when I was a freshman. I feel like it need a lot of work still, but I know it is coming together little by little. If there was one thing that I would fix it would have to be the finances tab. There has to be a better way for it to be organized to the usefulness of the user.
